Quelle carrière pour demain? Partenariat entre les industries de matières premières minérales et les pôles de recherche scientifique

De grote ondergrondse mijnen behoren in België al geruime tijd tot het verleden, maar toch zijn er nog heel wat belangrijke ontginningen van delfstoffen in ons land, zoals onder andere van kalksteen, porfier, kwartsiet, bouwzanden, glaszanden, klei, grind, …en bovendien worden er massale hoeveelheden van ertsen en industriële mineralen ingevoerd.

Deze studiedag wil de verschillende partijen in deze problematiek aan het woord laten namelijk de Europese, nationale en regionale overheden, de universiteiten en andere onderzoeksinstellingen en de betrokken industriële partners. Meer specifiek willen we de relatie tussen het wetenschappelijk onderzoek en de extractieve/verwerkende bedrijven in beeld brengen. Onder meer de volgende vragen zullen aan bod komen: Hoe zien we de toekomstige extractieve industrie in België? In welke mate kan onze industrie drijven op secundaire grondstoffen ? Wat is de toekomst voor ‘Landfill Mining’ en ‘Urban Mining‘ in België? Wat kunnen we aanvangen met de door de Europese Commissie gepubliceerde lijst van veertien zogenaamde “kritische” materialen waarvan de bevoorrading binnen de tien jaar in het gedrang kan komen?
