For hyperiids and widely distributed pelagic gammarids:
- An = Antarctic region
- Sa = Subantarctic region
- + indicates that the species occurs outside the corresponding region
- ++ indicates that the species is cosmopolitan or widely distributed in other oceans

- N = neritic
- MP = mesopelagic
- BP = bathy- or abyssopelagic
- B, Ba = bathyal (slope) in Subantarctic or Antarctic regions
